Trusts and Estates, Litigation and Business Law
Wayne McClanahan focuses his practice primarily on trusts and estates, while also assisting clients with litigation and business law matters in Punta Gorda.
As part of FarrLaw’s Trusts & Estates team, Wayne works with individuals and families on estate planning and related matters designed to protect, administer, and transfer assets according to each client’s unique goals. His work includes assisting clients with wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, advance medical directives, and other estate planning needs. He also helps clients navigate trust and estate administration matters and the legal responsibilities that can arise following the death of a family member.
Wayne’s background in litigation and business law provides him with a broad perspective when advising trusts and estates clients, particularly when estate planning involves business interests, complex assets, or the potential for disputes. FarrLaw’s collaborative approach allows Wayne to work alongside attorneys in the firm’s other practice areas when a client’s estate planning needs overlap with business, litigation, real estate, asset protection, or other legal matters.
Growing up in Central Appalachia, Wayne experienced firsthand the resilience of his family, friends, and community in the face of significant economic challenges. These early life experiences, combined with the privilege of a legal education, have shaped his perspective and his commitment to making the most of every opportunity.
Wayne’s time in law school reinforced for him the importance of integrity. He believes attorneys hold positions of privilege and trust within their communities and that honoring this responsibility requires dedication to integrity, loyalty, and trust in every aspect of the attorney-client relationship.
His diverse legal background gives Wayne the flexibility to address a wide range of issues. He values the relationships he builds with his clients and takes the time to understand their circumstances and objectives. Whether helping a family plan for the future, addressing an estate or trust matter, advising on a business issue, or navigating a dispute, Wayne approaches each matter with a commitment to thoughtful guidance and effective representation.
