Bookkeeper

Farr Law Firm is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to work in the Punta Gorda office and will report to the Controller. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of accounting/finance experience in a professional firm and demonstrate strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy. Under the supervision of the Controller, the Bookkeeper will reconcile firm bank statements, make deposits, enter financial transactions and serve as the accounts receivable and payable clerk. They will ensure all accounting records are intact, readily accessible and safeguarded.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
  • Bookkeeping experience in a professional services industry required
  • Self-directed individual that knows what needs to be done and operates with a sense of urgency, focus and discipline
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Able to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to exercise good judgment, be highly organized and be proactive
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial forecasts and budget
  • Above all, possesses the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information

Desirable:

  • Juris accounting software experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of various software applications including DoubleTime, Excel, Access, Clio and Netdocuments
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively work with all levels of attorneys & staff
  • Prior experience in law firm preferred

This is a full-time position. Qualified candidates will have proven bookkeeping skills and can work with team members in a positive and constructive manner.
