Levaquin is an antibiotic marketed by Janssen Pharmaceuticals as a first-line drug for common bronchitis, sinusitis infections, and for other similar minor conditions. However, scientists have discovered that Levaquin causes a higher incidence of tendon injuries, including tendon rupture, especially in persons over 60 years of age. Specifically, Levaquin has been linked to tendon injuries of the Achilles, hands, rotator cuff, bicep and meniscus.
